Ahmed Mashir Ali, affectionately known as Mash, is the heart and soul behind Maldives Locally. Driven by a passion to make travel to the Maldives more accessible and affordable, Mash started the company with a vision to empower local economies and create meaningful connections between travellers and the vibrant communities of his home.
Mash credits much of his journey to his close friend and mentor, Ruth. Having worked for her company, he gained invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience in everything from logistics to running tours and managing a business. Ruth's guidance and support equipped Mash with the tools and confidence needed to establish and lead his own company.
With over a decade of experience in the tourism industry, including six years as a tour leader, Mash has met people from all walks of life, sharing with them the beauty and rich culture of the Maldives. His philosophy is rooted in transparency, believing it is the foundation for building trust and fostering long-term relationships with guests.
Even as the founder, Mash remains hands-on, continuing to work as a tour leader for Maldives Locally. His dedication to crafting authentic and unforgettable experiences ensures every traveller feels welcomed, informed, and deeply connected to the Maldivian way of life.
Through Maldives Locally, Mash is not just offering tours; he's building bridges between people and places, all while supporting the local communities that make the Maldives so unique.

Meet Ibreez Saleem, the talented photographer and videographer for Maldives Locally. Inspired by the cinematic brilliance of Pirates of the Caribbean, Ibreez began his journey into videography, aiming to recreate captivating scenes. Photography became a natural extension of his passion, driven by a desire to preserve fleeting moments.
Starting with his first camera at 17 and advancing to drone videography at 24, Ibreez has built an impressive portfolio. His debut project was with Club Maldives in Hulhumale, followed by extensive work for Sun Siyam TV Channel and Dhigufaru Island Resort, where he showcased his skills over a dedicated 30-day assignment. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling, Ibreez continues to create visually stunning content that brings the essence of the Maldives to life.

Reema joined Maldives Locally to embrace the challenge of exploring a new industry, excited by the opportunity to work flexibly from home. With a strong background in hospitality, she honed her skills managing Rock Chamber café and restaurant as head waitress and cashier. She further developed her expertise at Sun Siyam Iruveli Resort as a waitress and hostess, where her prior knowledge enriched guest experiences. Reema brings her dedication and people-focused approach to her role at Maldives Locally, ensuring personalized service and seamless connections.

Currently freelancing, I help businesses, especially in the travel and tour industry, establish a strong online presence.
